Music was always first. Even before receiving a Master's Degree in Music Composition from The University of Cincinnati in 1990, he has been active in writing music and the performance scene. David has worked with numerous recording artists and theater productions. He entertains crowds and motivates other artists using his knowledge, experience, sense of humor, and love of life.
Children's Music
After numerous songwriting residences, working with children from preschool through High School, and two independently produced CDs, in 2005 David teamed up with Children Inc., a non-profit serving families with young children, to form GROWING SOUND. Each of the over two hundred songs available on the GROWING SOUND label has been written and recorded to promote positive social/emotional development in children and families. There are collections of songs on resilience, mindfulness, creativity, and hope and optimism to name a few.
Solo Projects
Enjoy David live at The New Thought Unity Center, Cincinnati, OH most Sunday mornings at 10:30 as part of the weekly service. Stay tuned for his solo release in 2019.
Ancient News
ANCIENT NEWS is Andrea Cefalo and David Kisor, a singer/songwriter duo from Cincinnati, Ohio. Their unique vocal harmonies are rooted in Folk, Country and Jazz but take occasional turns into World Music and Pop. Many of the song lyrics are based on modern translations of the ancient, mystic, sufi poets Hafiz and Rumi. The songs are a celebration of life, love and relationships.
